Dear Moviegoers,
Moviegoing. I love that topic.
Here, you'll see a mild redesign of the blog. Select the subscription button, and you'll find a refresh of benefits - No paywalls, leave comments, early access, and notes on film. Newsletters sent weekly and online posts throughout the work week.
And news. Moviegoing news.
I suppose this isn't really a pivot or shift, but rather an added exploration. Alongside doing movie reviews, I'll be covering news and topics in the world of moviegoing, from essays on why we go to the movies to interviews with theater managers. From news blotters that'll feature recent mishaps at cinemas to new finds in theatrical history. From articles about films with movie theater scenes to pieces on social media sharing your microcinema experiences.
Will this subject be the blog's new priority, over reviews? I'll be asking for feedback as things move along, so we'll figure that out together. Will I still review independent films, or just more mainstream fare? I'm a one-man team who borders on anxiety and hypomania, so I'll play it low-key going forward.
I'll never stop watching and writing, but any assistance at all - from feedback to financial - will go a long way to keeping this work afloat.
