# Get Excited About Fantasia!: A Brief

### Dear Moviegoers,

Straight out of Canada’s excellent moviegoing culture, the Fantasia International Film Festival rolls around every year to deliver all of us from our foreign ignorance of weirdo directors and their flicks.

The shocking. The surprising. The startling. The strange.

In past iterations, I’ve been impressed by features like [*Mad God*](https://www.moviegoing.rocks/p/fantasia213?ref=moviegoingwithbill.com) and [*The Cod*](https://www.moviegoing.rocks/p/fantasia24features1?ref=moviegoingwithbill.com)[e](https://www.moviegoing.rocks/p/fantasia24features1?ref=moviegoingwithbill.com), and graced by shorts like *The Booth* and [*Sexy Furby*](https://www.moviegoing.rocks/p/fantasia211?ref=moviegoingwithbill.com). The event has always been a major independent cinema resource.

In this present iteration, Fantasia looks to continue more of its “same old,” which, as a default presentation setting, is something I highly anticipate and recommend.

The Fantasia International Film Festival runs from July 16 to August 3.
